• No additional testing or modifications are required; “generic” GF-4 oils are
acceptable for service fill.

TOOL TIPS:
Small Battery: use a battery to test speaker wires. Touching the (+) positive
and (-) negative baterry leads to a pair of speaker will cause the speaker to
make a “Pop” sound indicating that pair of wires goes to that speaker.
Voltage Meter: Always check +12 Volt power wires for voltage before
making wire connections. These wires will fluctuate between 10 and 14 Volts.
Solder Iron or Crimp Tool: make wire to wire connections using either a
solder iron and electrical tape, OR plastic crimp terminals found at most
hardware or auto parts stores.
Adobe Acrobat Reader Printing Tips:
1) Select “FILE” then “PRINT” and select your printer.
2) In the print options box do the following:
A) Locate check box “Shrink to Fit”. Place check in box.
B) Locate box “Print Quality”. Select highest print dpi
allowed by printer.
C) If print quality listed is not as high as that printers normal
quality, press the “SETUP..” button. In the next screen,
press the “PROPERTIES” button and set the printers
print quality to the highest print dpi allowed.

Engine and/or turbocharger damage may occur if any component within these instructions
is improperly installed. Turbonetics, Inc. or any of its distributors cannot be held responsible fordamages as a result of negligent or improper installation. This complete turbocharger system can be installed using common tools and automotive procedures, but installer must have a thorough knowledge of automotive engine operation and feel comfortable working on the vehicle. If indoubt, consult a knowledgeable turbo installer or Turbonetics tech support specialist with anyquestions.
Although this turbo system has been designed to use existing emissions controls (including
catalytic converter), check local laws regarding aftermarket modification to emission controlled vehicles. Remove the turbocharger kit from its carton and inspect for any obvious physical damage. All kit components are thoroughly inspected and carefully packaged prior to shipmentfrom the factory. If any shipping damage is evident, contact your supplier and request that theyprocess a claim with the shipper involved. Be sure to review the Turbo System Parts List to verifythat you have all necessary kit components to proceed. If any components in the parts list are missing, contact Turbonetics, Inc. Customer Service department.
Before proceeding, it is recommended to have the following items:
Honda / Acura service / repair manual
A large table / bench nearby
Standard selection of automotive tools
Plenty of adjacent available workspace
The ability to lift the vehicle (at least a foot or two off the ground)
Replacement oil pan gasket or RTV sealant, oil filter and engine coolant
NPT thread sealant tape…

2 STEP #3 • Remove upper center pocket (A). • Open lid, pull at lower edge of case portion of pocket back by hand, to detach clips. Do not pull lid portion while removing upper center pocket. Once loose, close lid and remove. • Disconnect pocket light bulb socket (B) and detach harness clips (C). STEP #4 • Remove screws, disconnect front accessory power socket connector (D) and detach harness clip (E), then remove lower center pocket (F). STEP # 5 • Open console box lid (A) and remove console mat (B) and screws (C,D). D E F E F G H STEP # 6 • Lift and remove center console (E). • Disconnect rear accessory power socket connector (F), and detach clip (G). • Pull up rear portion of console to release hooks (H), then remove.
3 STEP #7 • Remove (4) 8 x 1.25 mm bolts from the shifter console (J). • Remove shift cable clip and undo cable from bottom of shifter (J). • Remove the cotter pin and washer. Twist the cable counter clock wise to release the cable form the housing (I). • Invert shifter housing and secure in a bench vise, use supplied tool as shown in picture (K) by inserting ball into groove in metal plate and pry upward on plastic bushing to remove off end of ball socket. • Apply a small amount of grease to short shifter ball and snap plastic bushing onto end of short shifter ball (L). • Use supplied 680 (Green) Loctite retaining compound to cover bottom of stock shifter ball and sides of stock shifter where it will contact short shift adapter (ensure NO Loctite fluid gets onto plastic bushing or ball of short shifter). Make sure to work within dry time, Loctite fluid will take a set in approx 10 mins, full curing in 24-48 hours. • Slide short shifter down onto shift lever (ensure short shift adapter is pressed entirely on) then tighten set screws to secure short shifter (M). • Reinstall shift lever housing & reconnect shift cables. • Check shifter feel, making sure all gears engage properly before reas- sembly. • Reinstall arm rest, console and shift knob in reverse order. • Check all fasteners and plugs….

Jet Map Information Edelbrock engineering has conducted dyno testing with the 2002-Later Acura RSX Performer Nitrous System to ensure the horsepower increase provided by the nitrous system is as intended. On a typically stock 2.0L engine, you can expect the following approximate power gain: Nitrous / Fuel Jetting Approx. HP Gains .024 .018 40 .032 .020 70 The dyno tests were conducted at Edelbrock using a stock 2002 Acura RSX Type S. These tests were conducted with 950 psi nitrous bottle pressure. 1.3Engine Operation Considerations When used correctly, nitrous oxide safely elevates cylinder pressures and temperatures while increasing combustion rate. These characteristics make the engine more sensitive to detonation. To ensure proper performance, engine and drive line life, the following tips are suggested: System Jetting Never exceed the recommended jetting!! Excessive jetting will result in severe engine damage. Fuel Quality Because Nitrous oxide is an oxidizer, fuel selection is critical. Both octane and fuel consistency affect fuel burn rate. The oxidizer quality of nitrous oxide will accelerate the burn rate, so we recommend a high quality of gasoline. We also recommend you use the same grade of gasoline every time you use your nitrous oxide system. This will help maintain the same fuel burn rate every time. 1. Please read through the entire instruction sheet to familiarize yourself with the installation before you begin. 2. Start the engine and check for loose connections or coolant/vacuum leaks, etc. 3. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. 4. Remove the air filter duct, all vacuum hoses, water (coolant) hoses and electrical connectors from the stock throttle body. Mark all hoses and wires to ensure that they are installed correctly on the new throttle body. Note: Engine coolant may run from the hoses once disconnected. Plug the end of the hose temporarily. 5. Disconnect the throttle linkage by opening the throttle manually and slipping the cable from the cam groove on the linkage. 6. Remove the four nuts securing the throttle body to the intake manifold and remove it. 7. Remove the MAP (see Figure 1 for MAP sensor location) sensor from the factory throttle body. Use the new O-ring with the blue stripe from the kit contents to seal the MAP sensor to the new Edelbrock throttle body. Attach the MAP sensor to the new throttle body using the factory screws. Note: To achieve the maximum benefits when re-using the factory intake manifold, you should match the opening on the intake manifold to the size of the new throttle body bore. The manifold should be port-matched OFF the engine and thoroughly cleaned prior to re-installation. If using Edelbrock Victor X PN 4764 or 4765, no grinding is needed. These manifolds are already bore-matched to this throttle body. Refer to the OEM owner’s manual for removal/installation procedure of the intake manifold. Use the gasket as a template to mark the manifold for grinding.

Specially designed adapters are used in conjunction with Universal Anchoring System (UAS) stands and Universal Measuring System (UMS) pinchweld stands when securing vehicles with horizontal pinchwelds and vertical jack tabs in the corners of their center sections. (All Honda / Accord / Acura vehicles excluding Odessey.) These adapters allow the positioning of vertical jack tabs into a slot on the adapter’s top surface, and the attachment of 4 inch clamps to horizontal pinch- welds. The Honda adapters attach to UAS stands in two ways dependent upon anchoring tube used. Figure 1 shows attachment to the ears of a UAS clamp bar tube. Figure 2 shows attachment to the vertical surface of a UMS adapter tube. Figure 3 shows attachment to the vertical surface of a UMS pinchweld stand. Each illustration shows the Honda adapter in its lowest mounted position. IMPORTANT: Information on use of anchoring stands (including their attachment to repair system mainframes) appears in the UAS Users Manual and UMS Pinchweld Stand Users Manual. Spacers are provide with Honda adapters which allow height adjustment of horizontal clamps. Nix that noise on the Acura MDX~Walt’s 2001 Acura® MDX comes into your shop complaining that the dashboard is creaking. Just the thought of crawling under the dashboard of Walt’s Acura makes your back start creaking. Fortunately, you don’t have to be a contortionist to perform this repair. The fix involves removing the front damper/spring assembly, grinding off body spot weld burrs and refinishing the surface, and/or installing self adhesive shims (Acura P/N 75826-634-300, H/C 0701896) three per side, to the damper mounting base.

Diagnosis
With the hood open and the vehicle parked, rock the vehicle from side to side, and listen for a creaking or ticking noise coming from the front damper area. Test-drive the vehicle as needed. If a creaking or ticking noise comes from the dashboard or front damper area, perform the repair procedure.
Repair Procedure
